Beirut to host Iranian director’s ‘Timeloss’

TEHRAN, Oct. 20 (MNA) – Timeloss, a play directed by Amir Reza Koohestani will go on stage in Beirut in November 2015.

Produced by Mehr Theatre Group, the play will be staged in Lebanon on 20-21 November. Written and directed by Amir Reza Koohestani, the work is a sequence to his Dance on Glasses which was staged in 2001 in Tehran’s Mowlavi hall.

Amir Reza Koohestani is one of Iran’s most successful and prolific playwright-directors. He is the first director to win two consecutive awards for the “best theatre production of the year” in Iran (Ivanov, 2011 and The Fourth Wall, 2012).

Timeloss has gone on stage in different countries including the US, Switzerland, Germany, France and Italy.  

The noted director has attended several credible international festivals with works namely Ivanov, Amid the cloud, Where were you on January 8th?, quartet: A journey north and Hearing.

The Mehr Theatre Group is one the most well-known Iranian theater companies in Iran and has gained international acclaim with successful performances across the world.

According to its website, the company has won awards for Best Theater Company in Iran (2010), First Best Theater Production in Iran for Ivanov (2011), First Best Theater Production in Iran for The Fourth Wall (2012), Second Best Theater Production in Iran for Timeloss (2013).
